Introduction

Welcome to Bikeder (“App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights regarding that information when you use our mobile application and related services.

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Full name and display name
  • Email address and password (for account registration)
  • Profile photo (optional)
  • Biking preferences and skill level
  • Trail reviews, comments, and ratings you submit

2.2 Location Information

The App requires access to your device's location to provide core features, including map-based trail discovery, pinning trail suggestions, parking spots, and trail photos. We collect:

  • Precise GPS coordinates (when the App is in use)
  • Location data you manually pin or tag on the map
  • Location metadata embedded in photos you upload

You may disable location permissions in your device settings, but this will limit core app functionality.

2.3 Photos and User-Generated Content

When you photograph trails, parking areas, or points of interest, we collect and store:

  • The photos you upload
  • Associated location data and timestamps
  • Captions, descriptions, and tags you add

2.4 Usage & Device Information

  • Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
  • App version and crash/performance data
  • Features you use and interactions within the App
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it

2.5 Payment Information

For paid monthly subscriptions, payment transactions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not directly collect or store your credit card or payment details. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status and purchase history from the respective platform.

3

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve core App features (maps, trail pins, photo sharing)
  • Create and manage your user account
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Personalize your trail recommendations and map experience
  • Enable community features (trail contributions, reviews, suggestions)
  • Send service-related notifications and updates
  • Analyze usage trends to improve performance and user experience
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations
4

Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

4.1 With Other Users

Your display name, profile photo, trail pins, photos, and reviews are visible to other users of the App as part of the community experience.

4.2 With Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party providers for hosting, analytics, cloud storage, and customer support. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

4.3 Platform Partners

Apple and Google receive information about your subscription status and in-app purchases as required by their platform policies.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bikeder, our users, or the public.

4.5 Business Transfers

If Bikeder is acquired, merged, or undergoes a restructuring, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

5

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@bikeder.com. Certain data may be retained longer as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

6

Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted storage of sensitive data, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device secure.

7

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@bikeder.com.

8

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing activities
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@bikeder.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9

Location & Photo Permissions

You can manage location and camera permissions at any time through your device's settings menu. Disabling location access will prevent you from using map pinning and trail discovery features. Disabling camera/photo access will prevent photo uploads but the rest of the App will remain functional.

10

Third-Party Links and Integrations

The App may contain links to third-party websites, map services (e.g., Google Maps), or social features. This Privacy Policy applies solely to our App. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

11

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place.

12

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
